So Harry Reid and his pack of elitist “asses” are back on the offensive after taking a beating over obamacare for the last three months of 2013. You have to admire the chutzpah of these people at a bare minimum. The gameplan of the elitists on both sides of the aisle, though there really isn’t an aisle in an ideological sense, are steadfast in their plodding drive for complete control of the American economy as well as her people.
Obamacare is not only an ideological nightmare it is a practical placebo and an infrastructure disaster of almost biblical proportions. The only part of Obamacare that is successful in any measure is the part that the elitists actually intended to work from the beginning and that is the control over our lives and the decimation of the worlds most beneficial and readily attainable health care system. We now have three government run health “insurance” systems competing with one another for the same population and guaranteeing the outcome of a single payer, single plan, bureaucracy laden health rationing system.
Be that as it may, however, let’s see what the anointed have in store for us as we ooze into the new year on the viscous trail of putrescence they are excreting for us to follow. Feeling secure in the mechanisms set in motion for destroying health care we are now going to further burden the economy and the system with more welfare. Harry Reid is quoted as saying “The rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer, the middle class is getting squeezed and it’s just not fair.” This is a drum beat that the elitists never tire of. We have income inequality for the women versus the men and that’s just not fair. We have income inequality for one race versus another and that’s just not fair. We have income inequality for legal versus illegal immigrants and (say it with me now) that’s just not fair. It sounds so good as a news bite to the malcontents and ne’er do wells that are buying this crap from occupy wall street and continuing to suckle at the government teat but the plain truth is something very different.
As unpopular as it is and as at odds as it puts those who believe it with the elitist snobs who are marketing slavery while promising utopia the truth is that there always has been and always will be income inequality. Some people have gifts be they mental, physical or otherwise that permit them to succeed where others fail. Some individuals overcome deficiencies in physical or mental attributes to succeed via their wit and charisma. The truth that none will speak today is the simple fact that some fail because they are lazy. Some fail because they are rudderless and without morals or ethics. Truth be told some succeed monetarily because they are without morals or ethics. In reality there as many ways to the door of success as there are people who trod the path. America has been for decades of it’s existence the one place on the planet where every citizen has had the opportunity to attain success.
There are shameful periods in our history as there are with any nation but I challenge you beyond simply naysaying the American ideal to find any other nation in history that has offered more opportunity, propagated a higher standard of living or permitted more freedom and material benefit to even the poorest among its inhabitants. Even the lot of the poor in America is a luxury when compared to the poor around the world. Our “poor” own automobiles, cell phones, color televisions, air conditioners, refrigerators and partake of services such as cable television and high speed internet. It is a travesty, disingenuous and intellectually dishonest for anyone to stand before the American people and decry the American economic system while feeding and preying on that very system for their own subsistence and plundering the producers of that system to generate government largess on so grand and pervasive a scale.
We have produce growers in this country who tell us they need cheap labor from illegal immigrants because they can’t fill their open jobs to pick the produce. The hospitality industry wants cheap labor to clean the hotel rooms, cook the food, serve the meals and run the shops. The whole of the horticulture industry seeks to populate their ranks with cheap labor to take care of the trees, manicure the lawns and maintain the common areas of our neighborhoods and towns. Wealthy families want cheap labor so they can have the luxury of someone else to clean their homes and raise their children while they go about the business of running the lives of the little people and regulating their family businesses or family built business empires into ashes.
Our problem here folks is not a lack of employment for those on the dole but rather an excess of pride bolstered by unceasing government handouts. I revisit the tried and true cliche that “what you tax you get less of and what your subsidize you get more of”. There is a continued effort on the part of our government to eliminate risk and consequence for the citizen and in so doing they destroy the motivation to strive, grow and succeed.
Government largess reduces the motivation to work and succeed which leads to a lack of workers seeking employment. This prompts the business owners to seek other employees which practice brings us increasing numbers of illegal immigrants. While we do this we propagate the lie that “Every Child” should attend college which creates the false expectation that every child is Bill Gates or Albert Einstein. The students accrue large debts pursuing useless degrees in impractical fields which is the logical outcome of shoving unqualified people through institutions of higher learning. Of course the qualifications of the students are diluted by the failing primary and secondary schools run by previous generations of malcontents and ne’er do wells attempting to propagate a Utopian fantasy that can only lead to a dystopian future that our leaders continue to lie about.
So we create generation after generation of people expecting to have success handed to them and believing they are entitled to a certain minimum level of comfort in their lives. At the bottom of this whole awful mess, however, is the lie that Congress “has to do something” and the equally terrible premise that Congress is about “doing the business of the American people”. What Congress should be about is following it’s Constitutional mandates and insuring that they protect our individual liberties. What Congress should be about is protecting our country from destruction from without rather than doing its best to destroy us from within.
